On Creating ‘The Planning Edit’…

Not every couple needs a wedding planner.

That's probably not something you expect to hear from someone whose career is built around planning weddings, but it's true.

Over the years, I've met couples who have booked their venue, found suppliers they genuinely love, and feel excited about planning the rest themselves. They don't need someone to take over every decision.

What they often need is reassurance - a second set of eyes.

Someone to ask, "Are we missing anything?"

I've always thought there's a space between planning everything yourself and handing everything over to a planner. A space for guidance rather than management.

That's why I created The Planning Edit.

It isn't designed to replace the planning journey. It's designed to strengthen it.

Think of it like taking a step back from your plans and looking at the bigger picture.

Sometimes, when you've been immersed in spreadsheets, Pinterest boards, supplier emails and seating plans for months, it's difficult to see what's in front of you. You know your wedding better than anyone, but you're also incredibly close to it.

That's where an outside, expert perspective can be valuable.

I often compare it to editing a piece of writing.

The story is already yours. The voice doesn't change. An editor simply helps refine what's already there, asks a few thoughtful questions and notices the things you may have overlooked.

That's exactly how I approach The Planning Edit.

It's never about changing your vision.

It's about helping you feel more confident in it.

We'll look at your plans together. Your timeline, your suppliers, the flow of the day, guest experience, styling decisions and all of the practical details that quietly shape how a wedding unfolds.

Sometimes we'll identify a few small adjustments that make everything work more naturally.

Sometimes we'll simply confirm that you're already on the right track.

Both outcomes are equally valuable.

One of the things I've learnt after years working in hospitality, venue management and wedding planning is that couples rarely worry about the big decisions.

They worry about the small ones.

Have we allowed enough time between the ceremony and dinner?

Will guests know where they're going?

Have we forgotten something important?

They're thoughtful questions, and they deserve thoughtful answers.

I created The Planning Edit because I know not everyone is looking for full wedding planning.

Some couples simply want an experienced perspective before the final months begin. Someone who has planned weddings across Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula and beyond, and who understands how all the moving parts come together.
